The Characters
Moses (speaking role) - A prophet rigidly dedicated to his vision of an inexpressible God. Since Moses cannot speak well, his brother Aron communicates his ideas to their fellow Israelites.
Aron (tenor) - Moses' brother and spokesman. He argues that the people cannot understand the entirety of Moses' vision; they must be given signs and simple explanations to help them approach the truth.
